Global Game Jam 2020

With this year’s Global Game Jam we broke our brains about the theme “repair”. The result was a crazy VR puzzle game, in which you “repair” all kinds of broken pieces that you find in a mysterious attic. Invent the coolest new items and sell them for the best price! The game is called LadleChair and may one day be published.

War Child, tablet management Can’t Wait To Learn

War Child, tablet management Can’t Wait To Learn

War Child has developed a series of educational games for children who miss out on education because they are affected by conflict.
Thanks to a delivery system which can operate in resource constrained areas, Can’t Wait to Learn provides quality education to all children – no matter where they are. The programme enables children to learn even in places where formal education is not available.

Virtual Play has developed the solution for War Child to be able to deploy and update these games and to do mobile device management on many devices, without needing an Internet connection.
With this solution and its future iterations, War Child will be able to scale up the deployment of this project, and hopefully realise their ambition: to see Can’t Wait to Learn widely adopted to provide quality education to conflict-affected children anywhere in the world.

Research & Development: New AR technique

Our developers are working on new techniques to use Augmented Reality as a mechanism in board games.
This technology makes a new kind of layered board game possible, in which players interact using their smartphones in addition to the game board. Of course these techniques will also play a role in future Virtual Play projects.

To be continued…
