Virtual Play is moving to a new office! Together with the entire Dutch Game Garden, we’ll be moving to a new location as of April this year. The location is easier to reach by car: we’ll be right next to the A12 exit. The tram stop will be across the street as well. Because of the coronavirus we’ll have to postpone the office warming for a while. In due time however, we’ll gladly give you a tour of the new building!
The Dutch Game Garden in Utrecht is an official location for the Global Game Jam once again this year! Virtual Play is organizing the hosting for all the companies in the DGG.

We ran another playtest demo of Hatchball at the networking lunch today, this time with some new hatchlings making their debut in the game! In August the hatchlings will be away for a summer vacation, but in September they’re sure to join the party again.
Today we had a first for Hatchball: we tested the game on a physical table! The table, also manufactured by Virtual Play, has the layout and controls of a traditional pinball table, but is displayed on a built-in screen. We’ve done these playtests as usual at the Dutch Game garden networking lunch. We got a lot of positive feedback, and we’ll be developing Hatchball more in the coming period.
One of the entertainment games we’re working on at the moment is Hatchball: a pinball game with eggs. Guide these toward their nest and hatch cute Hatchlings. We’ll have regular playtest sessions at the networking lunch of the Dutch Game Garden, every first Wednesday of the month. Register to visit, mail to: i[email protected]
One of the projects we’re working on right now is Colddigger, our new co-op/1v1 game where you cooperate… OR NOT – to dig your way out of an avalanche. We did some first playtests at the Dutch Game Garden networking lunch today! Curious? Come check it out sometime, and stay posted.

This year Virtual Play was showcasing at Indigo again – the biggest yearly event for indie games, organized by Dutch Game Garden. Our demo of Soccer Nations Battle was well received. A big thank you to all participants for all the effort and enthusiasm!
